Therefore in many cases integration projects become possible for the first time, opening the door for the reuse of already available, business critical and productive application implementations. We are calling this ROEI – Return On Existing Investment. Emerging Technologies as engineUsing SCORE Adaptive Bridges you define adaptive services for the integration of legacy applications. These adaptive services consist of the Legacy Interface, the Service Interface and the mapping between them. This is done with tools, which offer a maximum of built-in convenience and intelligence within their graphical user interfaces, e.g. validation routines implemented in ANGIE. These platform-independent integration models are mapped to server and, if necessary, client-side implementations by a family of generators. The generated implementations are intermediate layers, which resolve many different integration tasks. These include the abstraction from the used middleware, the connection to a database system or the mapping of object-oriented interfaces to function-oriented ones, for example. The implementation of the generators within SCORE Adaptive Bridges relies in essence on the usage of the core technologies ANGIE and HyperSenses. All generators and the repository management are implemented using ANGIE or HyperSenses. ANGIE as a generator language provides the foundation for HyperSenses – our "generator generator". HyperSenses is applied whenever specific generators should provide an extra amount of customizing, enabling a high-level of adaptability for project-specific requirements. In these cases the HyperSenses Pattern Composer as the tool for the interactive definition of patterns plays an important role.
