RDW ICT, the repeatedly as the best government organization awarded independent IT of the Centre for vehicle technology, approval and information in The Netherlands achieved two goals by modernising their entire mainframe applications:

1. Significant cost reduction: Return on Investment within one year by migrating the mainframe applications to open platforms
2. More flexibility for future developments due to platform independence of the applications and extensive modernisation of the application architecture

Continuity, quality and security have topmost priority for RDW ICT. That is why RDW ICT decided against outsourcing when parting from mainframe and modernising their applications. They decided for the full automation with AMELIO Modernization Platform:

• Platform change: The applications have been migrated from Unisys OS 2200 mainframe and RDMS to Microsoft Windows with .NET and SQL Server.
• Application transformation: The inflexible monolithic applications have been transformed into a modern layer architecture.
