1. OMG Architecture-Driven Modernization – Accelerating The Reuse of Existing Legacy Systems

Whether you refer to your project as Portals, EAI, BPM, Basel II, SOA, integration, porting to a new platform, migration, transformation, evolution, downsizing, off-loading or architecture consolidation – the common theme is building on your existing investments and making the most of the application services, data and development processes that you have.

A new idea that shows a lot of promise for accelerating the reuse of existing legacy systems is “Architecture-Driven Modernization” (ADM) from the Object Management Group (OMG). Learn more about ADM and Delta’s involvement in the new OMG initiative here:

2. ADM and MDA Conferences Span The Globe – Learn More About OMG ADM and MDA At Upcoming Conferences in Europe and USA

The standards being developed by the Object Management Group (OMG) for Model-Driven Architecture (MDA) and Architecture-Driven Modernization (ADM) offer the opportunity to close the gap between tools and technologies for old and new systems.

October and November see leading events on ADM and MDA on both sides of the Atlantic. Maybe you can visit one of more of these events and share experiences with others that are facing the same challenges? You will find more about these upcoming events here:

3. Model-Driven Integration of Information Systems – Delta’s Generators Again Achieve The Shortlist For The “Software Engineering 2006” Research Initiative

The goal of the new project “Model-Driven Integration of Information Systems” (MINT) is the development of cost effective processes for the integration of existing databases and application software with new, flexible, platforms in order to increase the competitiveness of enterprises. Delta Software Technology will once again be playing a central role in a project of the “Software Engineering 2006” research initiative by providing the generator technology and tools.

At this point in time this project is not directly making use of the OMG work in the area of Architecture-Driven Modernization (ADM). Even so, it is a direct real-world implementation of the modernization scenarios. You can learn more about this interesting new project here:
