Excellence in Software Engineering: From 12. to 14.04.2011 the ESE Conference 2011 offers you the opportunity to listen to lectures of recognized experts and to discuss with them about software engineering, technologies and methods, quality and management. As an international conference on software technology, the ESE Conference is intended for software architects, project managers, IT managers, method and process experts.

Generative Concepts for the Platform Zoo – Mobile-Apps

We answer the question how reusable software can be created to be able to react to short-lived products and market cycles in an economic sense.

Mobile apps are booming and increasingly used in the business environment. The biggest hurdle is the large number of alternative platforms (Android, iOs, Windows etc.). The already varied development (modular system) for such applications gets thus more complex for another dimension.

Mobile apps are a particularly significant and current example for the general problem of satisfying the constantly growing needs of software and software variants.

Rüdiger Schilling points out how this dilemma can be overcome by modern concepts for product lines and model-based generator development and which perspectives arise from it for the quality and productivity increase in the software development. For this purpose, examples from current international projects will be explained.

Our Speaker: Rüdiger Schilling

Rüdiger Schilling is the Managing director of Delta Software Technology GmbH. In this role he is responsible for the conceptual design and the application of generative software tools since more than twenty years. Model-driven development methods, automation techniques and domain-specific languages are main topics of his work.
