“It’s not enough to know, it has to be applied as well;
it’s not enough to want, it has to be done, too.”
(Goethe)

New technologies for new concepts

For several years, the new concepts in the area of Generative Programming (GP) have been meeting with increasing acceptance. The ideas are being discussed – as they well should be, say experts. Now concrete technologies are needed to put them into practice.

To be successful, a close collaboration between businesses and research in the area of GP is mandatory. Delta Software Technology has dedicated itself to this mission and combines it with practical knowledge gained from more than 35 years in the business of commercial development of generation tools.

From frames to patterns right up to DSLs

It was a groundbreaking approach to understand the implementation of generators as an individual domain in terms of GP and to use a special technology created especially for this challenge – the ANGIE frame technology. It has proved its efficiency in both commercial projects and in research, and is meeting with increasing popularity.

Based on ANGIE, Delta Software Technology has developed the Pattern By Example (PBE) tool, an entirely new approach to pattern-based software development.

PBE derives from a bottom-up perspective that automates intuitive working methods. As a direct result, PBE is promptly applicable for many different development tasks.

HyperSenses is the latest technology developed by Delta Software Technology. Essential elements of the concepts of Generative Programming (GP) have been realized as well as techniques for domain-specific languages (DSLs).

Thanks to this pioneering work, we will soon see entirely new opportunities for the use of generators in software development.

“When Delta suggested using SCORE Data Architecture Integration to develop data access services instead of changing the existing SQL CALL interface code in our existing programs to Embedded SQL, we first had to
think about that.
In the end the solution has proven to be a key factor that enabled us a smooth step by step migration.
Besides, the automated approach that comes with SCORE Data Architecture Integration has improved the quality of the data accesses in our programs.“
